I'll admit that when I first heard about VFTW, I thought it was the cruelest website I've ever seen. But my opinion has changed since then. The website has grown on me a lot. They actually are decent people, the people who run that website. I've seen them post blogs to either give condolences to former contestants who lost a loved one or send best wishes to former contestants who get sick. So they actually are capable of being genuine & nice which really impresses me.
