The scary thorny spiked durian fruit is Asia's "Forbidden Fruit" - forbidden from airplanes and hotels because of its penetrating and lingering stench. But this creamy custardy fruit has its strong admirers, including Chef Tummy!

  • It isnt the sugar in the fruit that makes you fat, its the rum & coke you drink on a daily basis.....LOL

  • I LOVE durian!

  • i like the smell

  • @denim98 btw im sgrean not malaysian but still i prefer malaysia durians =)

  • @denim98 agree hahas... thai durian have lesser sweetness and themeat are usually tougher.. =)

    Malaysia durians are top =))

  • @JeffreyCentino97 don't feed durians to any pet. durian = high sugar. you dont want your beloved pet to die fast ^^

  • @203091 try the smaller 1. it's much sweeter. btw jackfruit doesnt have anything smell like durians. got to any muslims desert stall that sells fried bananas, ask them if they have Cempedak (Smaller version of jackfruit) It is much sweeter and the meat is softer then jackfruit =))

  • @ChefTummyCooks it's better to get fresh ones.frozen ones are often over ripped once you defrost them.the colour changes and the husk turns soft.. and it's not very nice to look at. the texture of the meat changes.. =) TIP. drink lots of water after you eat a durian. to get rid most of the smell of the durian, use the durian's husk and put it under running water. use the water that flows off the the husk to clean ur hands. =))

  • I just had my first durian yesterday night. I understand it's very different for many people. For me durian does many things. The first reaction is old sweaty socks in a very very musty cellar. Then it transitions to orange blossoms, banana, and custard. I'm not sure I'll ever do it again.

  • anyone tried the jackfruit?
