Part two: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrwpNsr1zTE

How to liven up and add a healthy glow to the "traditional" 1940s make up look. Perfect for gals with fair skin who feel washed out by many of the 40s makeup looks.

This video came about after one of the ladies who reads my blog wrote me asking if I knew any tricks to add some color to her 1940s look. She said that with the bright red lip, neutral eye, and black liner, she felt it was a little harsh with her pale skin. So here are my tips and tricks for doing just that! I know some of these will be "old hat" for some, but I hope a few people find it helpful!

Be sure to drop by my blog for more: http://blog.caseybrowndesigns.com

Products I mention and/or recommend:
♥ Rimmel "Stay Matte" pressed powder in 005
♥ Ulta store brand bronzer (sorry, I don't know the name/number)
♥ Victoria's Secret bronzer in "Ipanema"
♥ Victoria's Secret blush mosaic (not shown in video, but I have recently started using it and *love* the application!)
♥ MAC eyeshadows: yogurt, brule, sushi flower, romping, wedge, naked lunch
♥ Rimmel eyeshadows: moonstone (may be discontinued)
♥ Other eyeshadows that work: Mary Kay precious pink
♥ MAC creme lip liner in "Cranapple"
♥ MAC lipstick in "Russian Red"
♥ ELF lipgloss in "Goddess"

  • very nice! you actually look like your from another era :)

  • this is so lovely

  • wow, the first thing i think of is the notebook!

  • heyyyyyyyyyyyyyy how do you do your hair like that?

  • I'm going to be in a play based in the 40's next month and this is the perfect makeup for it, because normally 40's makeup AND stagelights would make even the tannest person look totally ghostly with a flash of a red lip. So this is great!

  • You are so beautiful!

  • excellent pointers, thank you!, has any of you used Sally Hansen's newest range of products?! its quite hard to find good makeup in Dunsmuir but i managed to recieve amazing cosmetic samples by checking out "Gratis-Makeup-Samples", they're handy!

  • outstanding recommendations - appreciate it, anybody tested Olay's new range of products? its quite hard to get hold of makeup in Olcott but you can recieve wonderful samples of makeup through 'Gratis Makeup Samples', theyre ace!
