It's probably the first time ever that I can find interesting/resonable discussion here on YT instead of crapping about JB (do not mean Jenson Button!) or other Gaga...

Man, that snare... "puah!"....

@DevotionToChaos I like the civilized level even when we somewhat differ in our opinion. To yours: You can be different and still make great stuff that fans will appreciate. Steve Morse is all over the board yet fans love his music because he is very, very good. On the other hand, many bands suffer lack of creativity after their peak and most very rarely recover. DT reached cult status and while they lost many fans, they still have quite large following. BTW, band on this page is very weak.
-
@micanut48 I agree with them being more original in the days when they first started but I dont think their work is going downhil.. every DT album is quite different, therefor most fans that have a certain favourite album by them look at their new work as if it was on a lower lvl then previously, cause it is different from what they liked.. I used to have an opinion similar to yours but over time it manifested into - well this... btw Im not saying youre wrong, Im just sayin I got difernt opinion
-
@DevotionToChaos I beg to disagree with your assessment. Rather I would be more in line with devotion to chaos dude. Used to be amongst first fans of DT when nobody hardly even knew them. Back then, they were original. They lost it somewhere on the way. As a band, I don't care for them. Individually, they make very good projects. Go figure....

lol kind of a dream theater taste to it in the begining

I love how people just jump at any sign of plagiarism they think they've heard in a song, it's like we're not trying to enjoy a good song but to evaluate it like a critic from a program. It's not that I support plagiarism, but if it's there in some minor form just forget about it and enjoy the song; the first person who played the first note on an instrument might as well have copyrighted it if we're going to go that far. :S

@harvdenai listen if your own personal list of prog metal bands includes bands like Ephel Duath and Meshuggah fine by me. No one sees these things exactly the same way, and I don't want to persue you what is what (not saying I could). I have no need to assure myself that there is or are several web sites that have a similar distributed opinion on metal genres as yours. I certainly dont know any math or vegetarian prog grincore, but I've heard a lot of stuff and simply have a diffrent opinion.
-
@DevotionToChaos Well.. In times I was digging through all this, no one used terms as "avant-garde metal", "math metal" or "vegetarian progressive grindcore" - anything that was progressive was progressive, no matter the way its progresiveness went... And to me it's still that way. Well.. not only to me. Visit GEPR . NET and see the bands listed.

@harvdenai I guess this really a matter of opinion, I agree that prog metal can sound very different, but the bands that really are the greatest in this genre (in my opinion once again) have at least something that Dream Theater introduced first. Also I would like to mention that Meshuggah isn't really close to prog metal and Ephel Duath is far from this genre even more - Ephel Duath is pretty much pretty amazing avant-garde metal, some of their stuff I would even say is jazz.
and also not forget that your fans are discovered you two copied the beginning of the music can get pretty disappointed.
why try to make music based on that (if your taste) and not copy something completely.

I personally didnt steal anything, it's not my band and I don't have fans =). And I dont care who stole what - I just listen to the music and that's it. This band does indeed have a slight aftertaste of Petrucci's works throughout the album (LTE rather than DT), and that in no way deprives them of their own sound. This band suits my taste, DT - not really. Who cares after all? =)

this song was copied from dream theater "Endless Sacrifice" that already is similar to the michel jackson "Give in to me."
You should not do this because it is very ugly, and it also is for weak!
if not go out this song I do I complain of you!
think well!

Okay.
Just don't forget then to sue Dream Theater for plagiarism and complain on everyone who has put their vids on =)
