The Observer, I feel that I understand Zidane's action on the World Cup final a little better though not wholly. This is so because there are always intersperse of politics, socio-economics, historical, and many factors in between.

However, that does not stop me from coming up with my own little point of view. I can brutally understand why he fights like the way he butts, for there is a point in time whereby there is more regret in not fighting then not to fight. That inner rage that breathes down at inequality and injustice, which cannot be watered down by self-control of what is hypocritical-politically correct or pseudo-morally right.

I guess there is no pacifist approach when it comes to racism, sexism, nationalism, religion, family and identity. Or when the inner-conflicting demon dries up the innocent tears and roughened up the eyes, you know he had it hard and survived the streets.

Who needs a goody-two-shoes who does not understand real world woes?

Very much like E'to shed in a different light, I lost my respect for "Zizou" the footballer; I gain respect for "Yazid" the man, the human being, the humble man, the family man, the ghetto...and the list goes on.

The whole idea of this saga is that Materazzi is using Sun Tzu art of war strategy by infuriating Zidane in whatever possible or even dirtiest means -- the key in most French tactical play is to build the play around one player. Eg. Arsenal around Henry when he is around. And France built around Zidane since the days of Napoleon game style probably. Materazzi as a patriot though lacking in moral execution. Zidane as a man to his family though a bad example in football.
