@3534067 Seems to be par for the course. Most of the initial release flight sims I've bought were bugged to a degree, and some demanded hardware specs that were way beyond the capability's of the time.
Lockon was released in 01, and even with a modern machine I still get slowdowns maxed out at 1080p.

@fatcat2939 Ah of course! Yes CoD was long delayed and then when released earlier this year, buggy as hell. It has been patched a couple of times so that now it is playable, but there is still a long way to go.

This must be the most drawn out initial game development ever. I saw pre release photos in Flight magazine in 2006.

@fatcat2939 sorry, what are you referring to? the BOBII game was released in 2005 and in 2007 the devs released the code to a group of volunteers, the BoB Developers Group, who have been patching and improving the game with regular updates since then, the last patch was last year. This video refers to a new kite which will be added in the next update...

@popsaka1 The Cliffs of Dover Tiger Moth is certainly a beauty. I love flying around London and Dover in the old crate and having the instructor in the seat in front adds to the immersion. The training missions in Cliffs of Dover are really worth the time, even for experienced simmers. Shame the rest of the game is so unfinished, but there is hope!

And you crashed at the end and cut it because you did not want to show us? Graphics are very outdated and still so basic like + crosses for trees! Check out & play TDU or MOH Tier 1 to see what graphics of today’s games should look like.

@launchsa Actually no I didn't crash...I use Fraps freeware edition which only captures 30 seconds at a time and it cut out right there...even I can land a Tiger Moth! You are never going to get first person shooter type graphics in a flight sim. In a FPS the most complicated calculation the game engines have to make are rag doll physics and ballistics. In a flight sim the code has to keep track of multiple moving parts in hundreds of aircraft, on top of clouds, weather etc...
