Old Ironsides during one of her "turns". Sorry bout the heavy breathing - had to run and set up my tripod to get this shot (that & the mic is right next to where my nose rests on the camera body - have since learned to hold the camera at arm's length).

I'm not sure of the exact reason for this particular turn, but here are two more later this summer:

Friday August 24, 2007 between 10 - 1PM

Friday August 31, 2007 between 10 - 1PM

My guess is it will be at Castle Island around 11AM, just an estimate on my part.

Those two are "The culmination of a week of leadership and teamwork for the Navy's newest enlisted leadership. Come see us set our sails -- best viewing is from Castle Island in Dorchester." from the Constitution's website.

  • I was on board for the turnaround cruise July 14! So glad to find this video shot from Castle Island. The USS Constitution Museum had brought 100 teachers and their guests on board for the cruise as part of their Old Ironsides educational program. There were also many VIP's on board as well. Thanks for uploading your video!

  • I'm so jealous!

  • that's the oldest ship afloat, period

  • I went on a tour of the ship this fall. I love this ship. Though the guy filming is bothering me with the breathing.
