The problem with Time Travel films is many of them treat the earth as if it stands still in space. A person would have to be in "SPACE" & (EX: TERM, Back to the Future) & cal the position of not just the earth but the solar sys within the galaxy & the sin wave of Earth position + earth's rotation.

"The Final Countdown" with Kirk Douglas and Martin Sheen. About the aircraft carrier (U.S.S. Nimitz) going back in time to just before the Pearl Harbor attack.

Primer (2004 by Shane Carruth) has got to be the greatest time travel movie ever made. You may want to check it out.
