Thank you primaballerina007. Kolpakova has a more girlish manner as Raymonda - more Aurora in style and tone. She is definitely sharper and more sparkling technically here than in the complete filming 4 years later though she is still lovely. Others like Platel or Makarova or Van Hamel or more "noble" and "stately". Notice the smiles when doing the "piano variation" from the pas hongroise. Other dances are more slavic "soulful" and remote" there.

I danced this grand pas many years ago as a very young dancer in school, and I still adore it. I love the soulful interpretations but, face it, Irina is utterly fabulous in all these variations with her own charming style. The entrechats are amazing. Thank you very much for sharing.
