@kbarn26 That's what I thought, no substance you retard. Black Keys & Gary Clark Jr, both do the blues and a tasty fucking guitar. They're similar, that's just a fact, are they EXACTLY the same? Of course not, everyone has their own styles.

Gary Clark Jr is very different from the Black Keys. Brothers was built on riffs from great songs and production from Brian Burton. Don't get me wrong it works just like Zepplin building on riffs from great blues songs. Gary is doing something that takes the blues in a totally different direction. It's not derivative or playing off riffs from well known songs, but it uses the blues masters as a foundation. It's refreshing to hear great guitar tone and a three-piece band that sounds huge!

@Chilling10680 Go away Troll. Sorry you don't know anything about the blues kid.

I was just reading an interview on this guy in Guitar World, and wondered, if those of you who are more into this guy (he's new to me) could tell me if the lead break (first) was meant to sound as if it was being played badly on purpose? I mean, is this song indicative of this guy's works, or what?

@mitchakotaco The Black Keys are pretty damn good tho you cannot call them a bad band, You cannot say the Black keys OR Gary copy each other either. They both are performing a very old down to earth style of music that has been around for decades. I give them both credit for succeeding with blues in this day and age.

@kbarn26 How sad is it that a generation of young ppl identify with this because of white bands like the black keys or anything Jack White instead of Muddy, Wolf, Lightin Hopkins, and Buddy Guy? Why get your music from imitators instead of the source? Gary's the real deal who's been christened by the source of original blues guys cause he grew up in Austin. He was able to learn from the last standing guys. That creates a real difference in your sound and texture. Reminds of me of Hendrix.
