Betty White didn't want to marry him in the first place. But he wore a wedding ring around his neck and he persisted. They did get married and they stayed married for 18 years.

He died on the same day that Natalie Portman was born: June 9, 1981. It's hard to believe that it'll be thirty years since he passed away. He must be smiling down from Heaven on Betty White and her television success since then.

I wonder how laundry was done in the Ludden household...at the same time, Mrs. Ludden (Betty White) was selling Spray 'n Wash stain remover...(smile) He could make a minor brand in the Procter and Gamble detergent family sound more exciting than Tide, just by being himself!
