Being a "Bum" means sometimes not eating for a week or more and never knowing where your next meal may come from. Being a "Bum" is not bathing for days, weeks and sometimes months at a time. Being a "Bum" means sometimes breaking the law intentionally just so you know you can have 3 hots and a cot. People who think they have it sooo bad and think that the lifestyle of a "bum" is so great. Let me tell you, there is no Romaticism to this song or lifestyle.

The joys of being a bum??? The "JOYS" of being a "Bum"????? I've seen so called "Bums" get beat for not having work. Not that they can't work, it's just that there was no work (and still is no work). This song was supposed to be a parody of the times, not meant to be an anthem.
