i made a can crusher, that uses air and electricity, with some help from my friends.

I bought the new cylinder and used valve on eBay and the button at a local supply shop.

Shafer Pneumatic cylinder - $13
Parker Air valve - $35
Push button $5

everything on crusher is rated over 150 psi, but my air compressor only goes to 125 psi.

  • @theprettyrainbows if you check the description i have the instructions there. thanks

  • Very nice. Would love to have known, the pressure set point (in psi or bar), of the air supply going into the cylinder. Great job nonetheless.

  • @METrades the air compressor i use is set at 125 psi but i have used it at 70 psi

  • Where did you get the piston?

  • @boochieboy814 i got it from ebay it is around 11 inches long and it is a shafer cylinder. thanks.

  • hey man can you link me to anything to do with this shafer cylinders i have looked everywhere

    Thanks

  • Nice !

  • I love it! look at mine

  • I was looking for something to crush tin cans, as in soup, vegetable type cans. I finally figured out it's just a lot easier to set them on a flat rock and take another rock roughly 25lbs and drop it forcibly works great for the small amount of can's I need to crush! A little overkill for aluminum. I just twist those a little first than crush them in my hands.

  • Wow safety in mind with the one hand operation. Shame it just deafens you instead.

  • You need to conpact into a small volume with lots of weight. Check out the aluminum can crusher or type in moneybailer to go to web site.

  • the cylinder dat u used is double action cylinder or single action cylinder?

  • when i make one of these, i'm going to add a holder on top about a foot high so that instead of having to put in a new can every time, all you have to do is press the button
