the"girl" is singer-songwriter Bobbie Gentry. Known for her self penned classics, 'Ode to Billie Joe 'and 'Fancy' she is ,tell this day, the only woman ever to chart top ten country,r&b and pop. She won Brit music awards,grammy's, acm's and the grammy hall of fame award in 1999. She was also an astute busness woman. She started her own publishing and production companies (in the 1960's!)and was even one of the original owners of the Phoenix Suns Basketball .team.
