'Chronic Healing' can be found at: http://chronichealing.com/. It will be celebrating it's 2 year 'blog anniversary' on June 1, 2010. Hope you'll stop by! :)

*Please note that Jeanne's voice is difficult to hear on this video (due the symptoms explained in the video) but that a full transcript of it is available on her blog: http://chronichealing.com/. There are numerous other (previous) videos from Jeanne on her YouTube channel that are easier to hear. Please check them out if you get a chance.*

On to the description of this particular video:

This is the fourth video for the 'Chronic Healing' blog (formerly known as 'Jeanne's Endo Blog'). Jeanne, who has multiple chemical sensitivity (among several other chronic conditions) talks about her recent experience being exposed to secondhand smoke in a restaurant in a "smoke-free" state. This video is being posted as part of MCS Awareness Month but it should be noted that *ANYONE'S* health can be impacted negatively from secondhand smoke.

Please note this American Lung Association link:

http://www.lungusa.org/about-us/our-impact/top-stories/secondhand-smoke-heart...

This link gives data regarding DEATHS associated with secondhand smoke exposure. It's important to emphasize that such risks are **NOT** limited to MCS patients and that **ANYONE** can have their health affected by exposure to secondhand smoke.

A copyright is in place on all of Jeanne's videos and she asks that no one re-distribute them without express permission from her.

Please visit Chronic Healing (http://chronichealing.com/) for information and support on numerous chronic conditions including fibromyalgia, endometriosis, infertility, interstitial cystitis, multiple chemical sensitivity, Raynaud's Disease and more.

In addition to discussing chronic conditions and chronic pain, we cover coping skills, relaxation techniques, tips for advocating for oneself when interacting with healthcare professionals, Internet safety, and much more.

To lighten things up, there are occasional posts with music and art. Jeanne also tries to inject a bit of levity occasionally since talking about chronic conditions can get pretty serious. (It may be a cliché but laughter really is the best medicine). Once in awhile, it helps to feature something uplifting or funny to break up the more serious posts.

If you haven't already done so, please check out Chronic Healing at http://chronichealing.com/.

Thank you!

  • my mother and myself have it

  • @TreeHores I'm sorry to hear that. MCS is challenging. Best of luck to you.

  • Breath into your shirt if they're smoking around you. It acts as a filter, if it's wet, it works even better...

  • @sevenjeny3 Sorry for the delay posting your comment. I'm not always speedy w/YouTube comments & have had limited time online due to various chronic illnesses flaring up. I'm familiar w/provocation-neutralization. "Immunotherapy" that was suggested for a relative of mine (by a Traditional Western MD to treat actual allergies) was different than provocation-neutralization. Maybe this is a semantics issue. I'm glad you are having improvement of your symptoms. Thank you for your feedback. Jeanne

  • @jeanneendo Dr. Rea and other environmental medicine doctors do use a form of "immunotherapy" for MCS. It is called provocation-neutralization. The effects can be amazing (I have used them), but I don't believe they are the answer for me. I am having much better improvement with a combination of neural retraining methods.

Hello. Allergy is not synonymous with sensitivity. Per your suggestion, I Googled LDA shots. That pulled up “low dose allergens” or "ultra low dose enzyme activated immunotherapy". These treatments are talked about in the realm of allergy treatment but not treatment of multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS). I understand some patients have both allergy issues and MCS. (I am one of them). However, allergies & sensitivities are not the same.

    Best wishes,

    Jeanne

  • I have mcs also....I will be getting my 1st LDA shot next week....google LDA shots.....learn about it...this may be the only effective treatment out there.....

  • Jeanne,

thank you once again for taking the time and making the massive effort to post this despite feeling so obviously awful and ill! You are a real ambassador for the cause and I'm sure many will benefit from this.
