The El Capris perform their signature tunes, "Shimmy Shimmy Ko Ko Wop," and "Oh, But She Did" (a cover of the Opals song on Apollo) on a WQED Telethon in 1998. This appears to be four members of the original group, which included Eddie Jackson (lead tenor), James Scott (first tenor), Theodore McCrary (second tenor), Leon Gray (baritone), William Germany (baritone and conga drums), Larry Hill (bass), and James Ward (bass and bongos). Not sure which four are actually represented here. The group got together in Pittsburgh's Hill District in 1954 and Bullseye Records owner Woody Henderling recorded their first sides (Bullseye 102) at Porky Chedwick's WHOD/WAMO Studio. Thanks to Bill Price for this awesome clip.
