My Yakima Valley HO scale layout, "Selah (Fruit Row)" at Trainwest 2007. Now the full 7:26 after an issue with the first video. The period depicted is the early 1980's, when the Porto Streetcars could be seen operating tourist services alongside the UP freight.
The layout is currently being extended to include the Carbarn area and industries on Pine St.

  • Hey thanks for the quick reply. Do you live in Yakima? If so, do you, or do you know of anyone who repairs engines? I bought a brand new steam engine (was made in the late 70's but had never been used) and can't get it to run right. Thanks.

  • @MustardTiger509 I live in England, quite a way from Yakima....!! The Clover Leaf in Union Gap might be able to help or point you in the right direction.

  • Very nice layout! Looks great. I'm new to the train hobby, and was wondering if and when Yakima has any train shows? I went to one in Toppenish a few months ago with my father-in-law, and I see that the west side of the state has quite a few, but couldn't find anything in Yakima. Let me know. Thanks!

  • @MustardTiger509 I've not heard of any, although you could ask at a local Hobby Store as they should have flyers for shows in the area.

  • Most of you might have seen my image site containing photos of the YVT and my modelling. Unfortunately, the hosting company "fotopic" has gone into administration, with little chance of my or anyone else's galleries re-appearing. Whilst this is annoying for me, there are plenty of others who relied on this service as part of their business or with larger collections who have been greatly inconvenienced and left financially out of pocket.

  • Is there a club in Yakima I'd like to check it out if there is

  • @selah64 I'm not sure if there is, try asking at the Clover Leaf in Union Gap or Boxcar Hobbies if it's still open.
