Human overpopulation causes, poverty, starvation, disease, endangerment of other species that existed longer than us.

Habitat shrinking makes elephants look overpopulated but most people are too brain-deaded to realize.

The key to conservation of any species is for the local population to have a vested interest.Ever hear of Maslow's pyramid?A farmer that can't feed his family don't give a rat's behind about the life of an elephant that's destroying his crops.If he has a vested interest in that elephant, it completely changes the equation. If he and his village can have someone pay them more money than they'd make on their crops all year to kill that elephant, they're ahead of the game, and will tolerate more.
