  • If my chick and this guitar were falling off a building and i was holding them both i would drop the girl just so i could get a good grip on this guitar...both would be nice though.

  • That's like the joke: Q; If you drop a bowling ball and a banjo and an accordion off the Empire State Building, which one would hit the ground first? A; Who cares!

  • what string gauge is that guitar strung with?

  • 10s

  • how are string bends on this guitar on the high E string? because on mustangs ik that string bends are difficult because the string seems to slip off

  • String bending on these guitars aren't easy because of the bridge design. Most people use strats and teles for that.

However, these guitars definitely have their own sound and quirky personality.

  • I went to school with Nels Cline at Santa Monica City College. He said I was wasting my time in the class and should be on the road touring with a band. Quiting school was either the biggest mistake I ever made or the smartest decision depending on what you expect from the music business. I did become a good band member and knew what to expect out of myself unlike a lot of students fresh out of school.

  • My favorite Jazzmaster player is Nels Cline. He uses it for rock with Wilco and plays alot of jazz on his own.

  • kind of a nerdy question...compared to the jaguar it looks like the jazzmaster has room for its 3rd p90style pickup, and the jaguar looks like it barely can fit 2 of those p90 style ones, does that mean the body on the jazzmaster is slight longer? i know the neck is longer than the jaguar neck, but are the bodies the same size?

  • Joe Pass used a Fender Jazzmaster to record 'Sounds of Synanon' and he created some great Jazz recordings with the guitar.

Later (circa 1962) he used a Fender Jaguar to play live on a Jazz show; the show is available on youtube.

Again, Joe sounded as amazing as ever!

So, some legends did use these guitars outside surf, indie, grunge etc.

thanks for the great posts John; keep on playing; peace out.

  • How come some rosewood fretboards are darker than others?? PLEASE ANSWER

  • @johnhguitar A:accordion because i would drop it first

  • Could anyone please tell me how to take the tremolo arm off my jaguar (its an american reissue). Thank you
