I finally recognise why she had little confidence at the start. She was already doing very good on her own, but since she knew she could do better, she had little self-esteem. When she saw that she was achieving a lot more than others during those competitions, she knew she was one of the top. It is through all those competitions that she gains confidence.

@grlnxtdr77 I think her mom was talking about the time when she was not yet #1. Yuna motivated herself. her mom was there if she needed support.
