Well, I will play devil's advocate and say that, yes I prefer it played at this tempo. It is more emotion provoking at this speed.

Beautiful piece. I prefer it with more rubato and velocity variation in the left hand. Everyone tells me, "Satie is not Chopin." But that is just how I play the piece.
It's amazing how we all have our own interpretation and there's certainly nothing wrong with that. Good taste in music and good playing! It sounds nice regardless.

Thanks for your constructive feedback! Yes, I think it's just natrual that everyone has his own taste in playing. Otherwise it would be boring.

Tres lent via de Leeuw. Music simply doesn't get more intimate than this. Time stops; the melancholic simplicity embraces; the nurturing repetition--- tres lent---soothes mind, body and spirit.

Very good desciption. It is exactly what you feel when you listen and especially when you play this music. Interesting that you mention de Leeuw. I strongly followed his interpretations as I highly acknowledge them.
