  • Beautiful piece. I prefer it with more rubato and velocity variation in the left hand. Everyone tells me, "Satie is not Chopin." But that is just how I play the piece.

    It's amazing how we all have our own interpretation and there's certainly nothing wrong with that. Good taste in music and good playing! It sounds nice regardless.

  • Thanks for your constructive feedback! Yes, I think it's just natrual that everyone has his own taste in playing. Otherwise it would be boring.

  • Tres lent via de Leeuw. Music simply doesn't get more intimate than this. Time stops; the melancholic simplicity embraces; the nurturing repetition--- tres lent---soothes mind, body and spirit.

  • Very good desciption. It is exactly what you feel when you listen and especially when you play this music. Interesting that you mention de Leeuw. I strongly followed his interpretations as I highly acknowledge them.

  • Well, I will play devil's advocate and say that, yes I prefer it played at this tempo. It is more emotion provoking at this speed.
