Sifu Glover was not only Bruce Lee's first student, but many of Lee's Seattle Era students consider Glover to be Lee's best student. The late Skip Ellsworth stated that he was in awe of Glover's abilities and Sifu James DeMile has pointed out that Glover was not only a champion judoka, but a fine all-around athlete.

Yep that was the idea to introduce Jesse into the movie plot, I have studied with Jesse and he is one of the few we cross train with at Natural Spirit (Datu Kelly Worden) I did a demo that Jesse was at also doing techniques in 1990 I was huge and stocky from Body building too...Jesse did a "one inch punch" to my left pectorial region it left a huge fluid filled black and yellow mark for a week.
Way to go Jesse one real gentleman!

yes the black guy in the movie IS based on jesse glover. he was in fact bruces first student. a lot of the movie has inaccuracies though.
