Anxiety, Fear, and the Heart of God

God's answer to the fearful is far more than fear not. When we hear God coldly saying, "Stop it!" we've missed the heart of God. When we think we've been abandoned by God, we've missed the heart of God. And when we allow ourselves to believe that God alters his view and approval of us based upon the degree we are free of fear, we've missed the heart of God.

Our concordances often serve us well...I am thankful beyond words for concordances. However, when they take us to those "stop it" verses, they often fail to take us to the previous verses or the following verses. Those surrounding verses, every time you come to what seems like a "stop it" text, make all the difference in the world. God offers himself as remedy to our fears.
