Recorded in October 2007 at her solo recital as a part of 2007-2008 Concert Series of the Plantation United Methodist Church, Plantation, Florida. This Adagio is a single movement concerto, it's not famous and we couldn't find any recordings of it. So the lesson here is that how do you play a piece that you've never heard. It's a good question and you should try to find your own answer.
Gabrielle is also a pianist and composer, for more information, visit her website http://www.KidMusician.com

  • Great performance... this piece is one of my favourites. I'm surprised you weren't able to find a recording of it because there are quite a few out there. I think the Grumiaux recording is the best - you can find it on amazon and it's on a CD called Mozart violin concertos - complete.

  • Thanks for your information. We, her parents, are not musicians, so we are learning with her.

  • She's awesome but how come her pinky's straight on the bow instead of curved?

  • She is working on it, thanks for correcting. It's hard to relax all the muscles that you don't use.

  • does her shoulder ever hurt?? because i used to use the same bowing method as her and my shoulder hurt alot..and i never figured out why. it seems as if she's moving her shoulder and arm alot...so..it looks painful.

  • She never has any discomfort with her shoulder. Her legs hurt sometimes, but I don't think it's related to violin playing.

  • hey gabby, its me sage from orchestra! how r u doin?

  • its probably just a habit. i play with my thumb straight instead of curved on the bow. it doesnt affect my playing at all. my teacher's always trying to get me to change but i cant :D

  • Beautiful! She has excellent tone.

  • she really did a good job. Shin Sihan on you tube played this piece too, two years ago he won the Dutch national concours with it, and two months ago he won again, with Zigeunerweisen.

  • good luck on her career...

  • love her hair now

  • I play the violin, and I was pretty good...

But she has exceeded SO far ahead of me...

    Be Proud Of Yourself!

  • Oh I forgot! Just one more thing...sorry! Is she using a full size violin already? It looks a little huge though it does fit. =)
