  • Haha! Like these birds! It would be cool to have one of these like an pet!!

    Got some questions..

How long time does it take to train one?

And the "comands", are it like a dog - Sounds and signs - og how do you do it?

And how much can you tame it?

  • @Quacko69 Hm... Not sure that a "pet" would be appropriate term fora HUNTING FALCON. It is not about training falcon a "trick" to do, but abotu DEVELOPING it as a hunting predator. In this respect yor question "how much time" sounds a but off the content because it takes life :) However in a strickt meaning and especially if we wrap a question to "how long it tales to start flying to the kite?" I would say about a month (depends on a bird and you, of course). "Command" could be nothing at all

  • @tokara61 Okay, thanks for answer!

With the 'command' i mean like an dog. You can call it back and all that, how do you do that with the falcon? And with pet, Iøm just mean an animal you have.. not that good at english, sodon'tknowthebigdifferenceofallwords:)

Train and tame - Do you get it tamed, or as an 'baby' bird?

  • @Quacko69 Yes there are some acoustic or visual "commands" however it is still far not as in a dog's world. As far as taming, there are 2 ways: One as you said - get a baby birds or Second was is to catch young wild bird and tame it

  • no no you dont understand peregrine are female. and the male is on wiki is a gyrfalcon

  • @Pml2DarkNight

Still not sure what was your question. On that video (falcon on the kite) is my female hybrid (born from male gyr and female peregrine)
