In sub-Saharan Africa, there is a heavy social stigma attached to getting tested for HIV/AIDS, although over 22 million Africans are HIV positive.

For Vestergaard-Frandsen's 50th anniversary of its founding, its employees from 11 different regional offices from around the world came together in western Kenya to donate medical and humanitarian supplies in a novel program called the Integrated Prevention Demonstration (IPD).

About 50,000 people were tested for HIV/AIDS over eight days and received a CarePack containing PermaNet long-lasting insecticide-treated bednets (LLINS), LifeStraw water purifiers, condoms and educational materials for the prevention of malaria, diarrheal diseases and sexually transmitted diseases.
