Democracy is simply tyranny of the majority. The United States is not a democracy. It was founded as a republic. It does not benefit the individual in any way to have the collective decide for them. For this reason, direct democracy is a terrible idea. It strips all the power from the greatest minority, the individual, and gives it to whoever has enough people and power on their side. Any kind of direct democracy can only do harm to YOU, the only YOU and the 100%.

You know what would be even better though is if we could just move away from the need for government entirely. Sounds impossible, improbable and implausible, but hear me out. If everybody respected each others inalienable rights to life, liberty and property, left the protection of those rights to themselves, and those around them and exchanged goods and services voluntarily we'd see a wonderful world indeed. Crazy? Hey, maybe, but I definitely see that as the logical conclusion that comes about when you minimize the state to such a degree. Eventually people will learn to do away with it entirely. That my friends is the theory behind voluntarism and anarcho-capitalism.

  • So what method do you suggest?

  • @AlphaNerd3 A classical liberal Republic would be good with very limited powers would be good. That was the way the Founders had in mind. Representatives and leaders are still elected, but their power is greatly restrained by law. The minority is protected by the Constitution and Bill of Rights and not subject to the whim of the majority.

They tricked you into believing their is no other way but now more then every it is possible, Do you have a Cell Phone and Internet Public Access, people have phones, to be called with important changes to be voted, We Are Intelligent, The y would have you believe otherwise.

I've read of Senators who vote laws, having No READING and Writing and yet their they sat. We'll one person I was aware of, so what does say?

Corruption or anyone can do it..

  • Thats why you would want to apply a constitution of laws against the majority the way it was intended to be used to protect against The Government, It was not laws for us, it was to protect you. Charter of Rights for my situation ;-)

What might happen is once everyone is logging into your nearby voted politician and referendum the changes through polls to the people, nothing changes in structure, we just flip their pyramid and all the power comes from the People, If the People Voted.. Cont...
