http://www.laga-handbags.com - We brought our trainer/manager to the US from Indonesia to attend an industry trade show where she demonstrated the art of hand-guided embroidery on a single-head, treadle sewing machine.

We started our company to provide employment and income for tsunami survivors in an attempt to help them rebuild their lives.

  • hi

do these mnachines do any special stiches or just your standard stich.

Do you import them or buy them localy ?

    What do they cost ?

  • deauzie, These are very simple machines, purchased in the local area of our workshop for about $50 or so and I believe they do just the standard stitch. Thanks for your interest!

  • These machines are still being made in China for household use in third world countries as I understand it. Our workshops make these machines available to our workers in Aceh.

  • probably all original these machines seldom break and if they do you can still find parts for them.

  • Doesn't this lady have mad skills on a sewing machine! She has a nice even rhythm on the foot treadle.

  • It really is fascinating to watch them make these bags. Truly gifted women...

  • Good Work..Nice designing.

I suggest you upload the same in 'Dynamycdesi'.It is a online talent contest site for people and gives an award to the 'Best Talent'.

  • $50 is cheap. Do you know what new ones sell for in the local market?

  • The machine is an Asian made Singer 15, a 15-110, 15-111, or 15-112. These machines are good but have a couple of plastic knobs to be carefull with. I have one a bit like it (yard sale) that was made in VietNam. Some are China, Taiwan, etc.
