What looper are you using?

@msenin I'm using the new Boss RC-3. It's wonderful! I recommend it.

@DMBalchemy Was guitar plugged into the Boss, or was microphone? I'm interested in how you added percussion to the loop. I tried it myself before (can't post links, but lookup "Love Town" or "Water of love" on my channel).. Of course, it'd help to learn to play guitar first haha Are you interested in collaboration?

@msenin Good question. I'll be posting my version of Billie Jean with the looper later today. I plugged my guitar into the looper. If you listen closely, you'll notice the first knocks are more pronounced than the rest and that's because the mic only caught the first ones, the rest were caught in the looper. The audio you're hearing is a mixed version of both the Direct and the microphone. Also- I specifically bought the Fishman Matrix Ellipse Blend pickup for my guitar.

@msenin (Cont.) You can see me put my hand in the soundhole and blend it from the pickup to the mic, which is why the looper can catch it, or why it comes out really well through an amp when I tap the body.

@DMBalchemy Thanks for sharing the know-how! I didn't realize there are pickups like that. How many takes did it take to record this video? For me, when recording loops, the most difficult part is to tap the start and end of the loop properly. Otherwise the timing is off.
