  • Great photos mate, did you take them?

I went there once when i was a kid to watch Shrewsbury

We've just lost our great old ground to a shiny new characterless version.

New grounds probably wont get any character for 50 years when they start to look shabby.

One thing that really pisses me off is naming grounds after companies. Wot would you prefer 'Highbury' for over 100yrs or 'Emirates' for ten yrs and then 'Ford' for another ten. The useless twats at the FA should ban it - anyone agree?

  • my mate took the pics i did the film, ive been looking at the shrewsbury stuff very sad went there a few times always a good day out although we lost once 4/1 lol it didnt matter spent most my time looking at the ground anyway, hate the new ones ,absolutley soul less good luck next season, cheers jv,ps we might win a game soon.

  • I genuinely feel sorry for Derby fans out there, being forced to move from your home, a ground full of character, to a bowl.

Such a shame really, and thats from a Forest fan.

  • thanks mate just hope you dont go the same way,the city ground like unlike derby shouldnt be replaced you never realise what you have untill its gone ,although the bbg was run down it did have an atmosphere of its own one that was never replaced at pp a ground i have no time for all the best and hope to see you next season.

  • can any body help me? what is the song called and who sings it in the vidio ? cheers in advance sean

  • i,m a american footy fan that's split on this issue. on one hand, i understand why football clubs have to leave the old grounds for a updated ground. however, i look at places like the baseball ground, or highfield road, or roker park and say these are footy institutions. they are irreplaceable and you can't manufacture the emotion and passion the fans have at these grounds. i wish i was'nt stuck in a country which passion is at a premium and sport is only for entertainment purposes. god bless.

  • C stand C stand give us a song

  • i can remember going to a few derby matches back in the day when all you needed to get in was show them yer buspass, was only a few games in the season but all good. we sat in ozzy middle.... C stand Cstand give us a song lol a great bunch of supporters!

  • Coudlt agree more

Desperatly dont want us to leave Anfield, yet i know we have to.

Cant bare thinking what they will call it...

  • Im a Rams fan but i wish i was around when the baseball ground was. Ive seen it a couple of times before demolishment like on the outside but id love to know what the atmosphere was like, how the pitch was, how terracing was back in the day and many more. If i had the choice to go back in time to visit one thing it would be this stadium!

  • Only ever got to see reserve matches at the BBG, really gutted.

They shouldn't have demolished it. Nobody really used it so I can't imagine why it would have cost money, other than a few preservation costs here and there.

  • Good video mate.Seen some wonderful stuff played in that stadium. Hector Hinton Todd--- the list goes on and on. I reckon rams lost a massive sense of identity the day they quit the BBG, but it was very dated.

  • I remember following the Arsenal in the early seventies at the Baseball ground, FA cup, amongst hundreds of Gooners in the pop side,(except they weren't known as Gooners in those days) 2-2 draw, Charlie George played a blinder, replay at Highbury, mid week game, afternoon kick off because of the 3 day working week, 0-0 draw, crash barrier collapsed, went to the second replay at Filbert st, we won the game, can't remember the exact score i think it was 2-0, thanks for the memories.

  • amazing ground wish i was around in that ara, i pride park does give the same effect for emaple the old DLF boys where around and the players we had arsomwe, COME ON DERBY
