Medvedev`s address to nation

Today we will talk about the state of the nation address by the Russian President. In his first address to the Federal Assembly, Dmitry Medvedev proposed a set of political reforms aimed at widening peoples participation in politics. He also outlined the Russian response towards global challenges. Well be discussing the presidential speech with a man who was directly addressed by Medvedev on Wednesday Member of the Russian Federation Council Dmitry Ananiev.

I don't think Russians want the Soviet system back but they do want the might of their military restored. Russia is and will always be a world power. Russia has contributed too much to the world when it comes to science and technology etc...Russia will not allow anymore humiliation. Russian power is here to stay and there is nothing wrong with the president wanting the best for the nation. Go Russia.

Russia was invaded from the west numerous times in the last few hundred years, retreats from Eastern Europe at the end of the cold war and what do they get in return? More military expansions by NATO and other US dominated security groups, Global ABM (which is part of a first strike weapon policy) and militarisaion of space. And the US expects the Russians to accept that? Puh-lease!
