  • He was very good. Its just too bad he had alot of injuries.

I remember reading that the doctors told him he can keep playing, but he may have trouble walking by age 40.

  • Wow, I remember Robert Smith. I completely forgot about him. I was watching this and I was thinking "who is Robert Smith and when did he play? This must be from the 80's or something." But then I saw the number 26 and the memories popped into my head. WOW. I can't believe I forgot about him. Yes, late 90's as the description ALSO states. ( :

  • my older brother took me to this game when i was about 12. hes a steeler fan and im a viking fan. i remember this play, cowher screaming at the refs at halftime, warren moon, and jack del rio's INT. the only NFL game ive ever been to but well worth it. needless to say i was surrounded by steeler fans wanting to beat the shit out of me the whole game hah. 44-24 blowout this was in 1995 by the way

  • Never got the recognition he should have received. His greatest misfortune was being named "ROBERT SMITH". With a common name like that you don't get much attention. Nothing common about his running style. He was a very special player.

  • My Favorite Viking!

  • It's sad that this is one of the few videos of him on YouTube... I remember plays he made back in 2000 when I was only 6 years old. Smith was an still is one of my favorite players of all time.

  • Robert Smith was one of my fave players ever. It was almost like he didnt' know how good he was...

  • One hell of a player who quitely made his way through the NFL. Raely was there anyone on the field faster than he was.

  • i still got my robert smith jersey but it barely fits me. anyone out there at has an adult size robert smith jersey that they can sell/give away?

  • Smith retired Because he did not want to get injured and have to walk with a cane or wheel chair for the rest of his life. Much Like Barry sanders. did But Barry Retired because of being on a losing team.
