People Change But Feelings Stay the Same- Chap. 4

Recap: Nick became a little nicer and Sarah found Sam crying on the path. Let's see what happened.....

*first getting to the camp site*
Sam POV:
I set up my tent with the help of Joe and we both walked in. I sat down and turned on my Ipod on low so I could still talk to Joe. I thought maybe now weould be the time to tell him how I felt about him, I mean, 20 years of loving him and I still haven't told him.

"Um, Joe?" Was I really going to tell him. "Yes, Sammy?" He looked at me with those beautiful eyes. They made my heart melt. Maybe I shouldn't, No, I have to! 20 years, come on!!

"It's just that over the years I think I've grown to......to....." He smiled, "Come on spit it out." I took a huge deep brethe, "to like you, alot."

He just sat there with his eyes just fixated on me. Ok, now I felt like an idiot. I mean, he was just sitting there. "Ok, I'm gonna leave now. I feel awkward." The next thing I knew I kissed him. Yes, kissed him, I kissed him! Wait, why isn't he kissing back? Oh, now I feel really stupid.

I pulled away and walked out. I was surprised to see that it was really dark out. I went past Sarah's tent and heard her singing That's How You Know. I knew what that meant, B had a nightmare. I walked on the path that was nearest our camp site and sat down on a rock and cried. I had never let anyone see me cry. I sat there until I heard footsteps behind me.

Sarah's POV:
"Sammy, you ok?" She turned around and smiled, "Yeah, I am fine." I knew she was lying. "Come on Sam. Tell me the truth. What happened?" She broke down crying.

I walked over and comforted, "I-I-I told Jo-Joe I liked him a-a-alot and the-the-then I kissed him bu-bu-but he didn't ki-ki-kiss back so I le-le-left!" I felt bad for her. I mean, it's hard telling a guy you like them. I'm going through it with Nick.

"Hey, it's ok. He was stupid for letting you just leave like that!" Sam perked up a little, "You know what? Your right!" We sat there and talked for a while until we heard foot-steps. We stopped talking and heard 2 people walking towards us. We got scared do we sat as stiff as we ever had and what happened next surprised both of us.
