What other country in the world would an author get arrested for his writings? Communist China, North Korea? The singapore government with its mandatory beating of males, mandatory death penalty, arrests of authors and bloggers on the internet needs continued intense internatinal exposure. Shameful government.
@yingnam self-disciplined? No rude manners and words? No housing problems!? You gotta be kidding me..! You do know the only reason no one speaks up is because they and their loved ones will never have a peaceful, normal life in Singapore again. Point in case, Alan Shadrake - and he's a foreigner.. imagine if he were a local..!
I thought it was the eden in the south east Asia. The people there are self disciplined. No political quarrels. No rude manner and word seen. No provocative news. No language barriers. No housing problems. Not much challenges from the public. Everything seems so pleasing. So, what is the point to compare the living in Singapore with that in the North Korea?
Singapore will give you everything good for living but certainly will give you a kick in the ass if you question the governance. There is no strong opposition party in their local politics. If you are interested in knowing some brilliant big mouths on earth, Michael Savage is an option.

Singapore may be a good place for those people who don't care about politics.
