  • My dad went with a friend to an auction of a radio station back in the 70's. He brought me back a box full of 45's (wish I still had them). I started spinning them up on my Mickey Mouse record player and this song gave me hours of fun!!! Finally glad to know who did it (cause I didn't remember). This song will never die cause I will teach everyone I know!!!

  • I didn't know who did it either, nor did I remember what was on the other side. I did an internet search for the lyrics (and found the artist, nope, don't remember that), then checked ebay - found the record (you're listening to it), the other side (actually the A side) is Gonna Find Me A Bluebird (don't remember that either).

  • My brothers always played country music every sunday when I was growing up. The whole family would gather around. One played the banjo and piano and the others played guitars. This is one of the songs they sang. Another favorite was Tommy Collins' "you better not do that." How I miss those days. They will be forever in my memory.

  • Hi Huggy, I never heard this song before, I like it, I have one record by Marvin Rainwater and his sister, forgot the name of it, been too many years since I played it.

  • I have searched for this song for years.. My dad played it for me.. thank you so much for sharing it...

btw.. I just inherited the 45 from my dad's estate .. as I dont have a record player anymore, this is wonderful!

  • I learned the words to this back in 1959 and sang it at every venue/gig we did...terrific!
