At first glance, the Slingshot Turbo
3 (T3) has a similar look to the Rev, but when you get up close you notice that
the T3 has a lower aspect ratio. Going through the setup of the T3,
we noticed it has the traditional Slingshot one pump inflation system
with adjustable clamps to seal each strut independently of the leading
edge. The T3 has incorporated a shorter bridle, reducing its chance
of tangling around the wing tips when crashed in the water, while
adding to the direct control of the kite. The bar has a new grip that
helps the bar feel a little more secure in your hands. Slingshot
kept the both the depower cleat and the leash attachment below
the bar like last year, making everything easy to access from the
rider's position. Although the bar is neat and clean, there is a fair amount of
bulk around the chicken loop. Slingshot is staying true to its history of bomber
construction, as even the pigtails on the kite are more heavy duty than average.
The graphics on the kite were changed up, but still retain the same look and feel
that Slingshot has had on their kites for years.
