The first time I saw this, I was a cynical 17year old brat. But it brought me to tears. Stilll does, occasionally. How could there be four people on this planet who would give this a thumbs down?

surely God smiled at this

@smithda1957 What a lovely thing you did, God bless you for that, I have always loved Jimmy and never had the courage to write to tell him so, now it is too late, but I am happy someone reached out to let him know how much he was loved and appreciated by his fans. :-) Yes this has been my favorite Christmas movie and I have searched for it for so long and glad I found it. God Bless you Jimmy you are missed.

This is also my favorite Christmas movie.
I relate to that manger scene because my wife left me and I never got over it.
But, I like to joke and call the movie, "FREDDIE KRUEGER'S CHRISTMAS"!

smithda1957 isn't kidding. I should know. He's my dad. Every Christmas, we sit down and watch this movie as a family. I always love every minute of it.

Every Christmas Eve I watch Its a Wonderful Life followed by this movie. Brings me to tears every time. I absolutely love Jimmy Stewart. Hands down my favorite actor.

i loved watching this when i was a kid. im glad that i found it. :)
True story.. I use to write Jimmy Stewart when he was alive. I told him that I liked this movie. He wrote back and said that he had a copy of the movie but gave it to his family. He said he had been trying to get another copy for years. I knew someone with the morman church in Utah and got them to get me a copy. I sent it to Jimmy S. and he sent me a thank you letter and autographed picture. He was glad to receive the tape again. I show this to my kids and they still like it and we all cry

I'm a grown man, hardened from life . . . and yet, I'll freely admit that I cry like a boy every time I see this movie. I stumbled over it on an local TV station many years ago - I had no idea that Jimmy Stewart had done another Xmas related movie (other than IAWL). Mr. Krueger seems so sad and lonely. But the scene where he speaks with baby Jesus in the stable, thanking him for being at his side during his whole life - it gets me every time, and makes me count my blessings too. A great film.
