Alligator River Bridge

Got stopped on the bridge for an opening to let a lot of boats pass. Through. They were as far as you could see on both sides. Never seen that many there before.

Wow, you call that a "small" river! It's a pretty good size or so it seems. As for scarry bridges try crossing or getting stuck on the Pulaski Skyway in NJ. You can actually see it crumbling and decaying. That's why people drive across it at high speed because they can't wait to get over it! Fear of this bridge is rational.

I can remember crossing this bridge on my first trip to the OBX in '84, and we got stopped on it and I got scared as hell, because I felt like I could just reach out of my window and touch the water. Plus I just had started swimming and was far from a pro, and had a sudden fear that we were going to fall in the water. OOOOhhhh, not a good feeling and yeah they certianlly need to replace this bridge.

No Alligator is a wide river and gets good and rough...no one really lives along the shores....swampy region of NC.

i live in NC, and i have been over this bridge so many time, it needs to get replaced. it's SO old. it's scary to get stopped on it.
