Phoenix

Memorial video for Phoenix, a special little kitten who unfortunately, along with his two brothers Regulus and Tetris, died from FIP. He was a fighter and we fought for a long time, but the FIP was too strong.

Most of this was recorded in January, when I got my new camera. I wish I had more footage of Phoenix just being a normal kitten.

July - Phoenix came into my home as a feral kitten
August - brother Regulus died, at the time suspected panleukopenia but now suspected FIP
September - Phoenix started showing "cloudy eyes", diagnosed as herpes
October - first neurological attack
December - second neurological attack, diagnosed as FIP
January - at the beginning of the month, brother Tetris died from wet FIP. Phoenix started showing signs of his third neurological attack. After a long battle, we helped him journey to the Rainbow Bridge on January 26th.

The song lyrics are from Suzanne Collins' "The Hunger Games", which Katniss sung in honour of Rue. She was a young, special girl who died much too early, like Phoenix.

I'm so sorry for your loss! I lost my dog earlier this year and it was one of the hardest things ever. I'm sending big hugs your way. :)

Thanks. It's definitely been hard to deal with (one of the reasons I'm just responding to this now), but things are getting better. It was especially hard because his two brothers died of the same disease (one in July, one around Christmas).

That's true, and that's one of the good thoughts that I have. He was in a lot of pain his last few days, and now he's not. Thank you.

wow, this made me cry. Losing pets is real hard... but I think stuff like this helps you heal. Memories although awful painful are very important. Your real strong, and I hope you only move forward from here

I know loosing a pet is hard, I LOST 3 THIS YEAR. One Ferret escaped through a window my brother left opeen. a dog we HAD TO give away, unless we moved to an apartment, tho i have 6 family member, i wanted to, but my parents said NO. and then finally 3 weeks ago (Shagy) my beutiful cuuuute kitten is a 6 month old outdoor kitten, and left us after 5 months with us.. im getting a new one in 1 week, this one WILL be a kitten, and WILL be safe and sound at home

Im crying right now.. i lost my dog to cancer a few months ago and this brings the memory back so much.. i hope no one sees my tears :'(
