I love it! My Dad was lucky enough, when he was a kid, to see the Delmore Brothers in person....and they taught him to play Deep River Blues (Big River Blues) and Brown's Ferry Blues and Dad played with them in the show. Even though Dad's been gone for many years, I can still put my ear to his D-28 (one of his many guitars that I stil have) and hear those songs.
It was great to hear you play and sing it! I know you love to play it as much as we like to listen! :-) THANKS!

You are a much better musician than many whom I've seen here on Youtube with a million hits. I'm am a self-admitted elitist. I see in you what the morons who give some others a million hits are missing.

Marry me.
I happened upon your video while enjoying different treatments of this Doc Watson classic. I started playing music for a living in 1980, so I know a little something about it and I hope you'll believe me when I tell you what a real fine job you did on this song. Not only did you toss in a couple of nice guitar licks that I didn't see coming, you sang the hell out of it, too. Love that Delta blues quality to your voice. My advice - don't change a thing. Hope you'll post some more.

@southernhonkytonker Thank-you! This is actually the first tune I learned to fingerpick. I tackled a tough one and it seems it took YEARS ! LOL I was about 13 yrs. old so I guess I've played this one a few thousand times. It's still my favorite tune to pick and sing. Doc rocks!!!!!
