During the cold dreary days of winter it really important to bring color inside the home. Joining me today is Bill Head Co-owner of Head-Lee Nursery and Bill and I are going to be talking about some colorful houseplants that we can bring indoors to kind of brighten those grey days of winter. For a high light are lets say a south to southwestern exposure what are your recommendations for those areas? One easy plant to grow is this beautiful bronzed leaf pineapple and it can tolerate full direct sunlight and there are a couple of different varieties heres a beautiful tri-color form. And in some of our other types of Bromeliads like this one right here also very beautiful as well as Chromes probably one of my favorite because theyre such an array and its just year-round color. Medium light room wed start to bring in things like your Ficus. We have lots of little nicks and crannies and everything like the bathroom and the kitchen where we dont have good lighting. Thats where we can bring in some really colorful plants. One of my favorite are these Rex Begonias with silver and pink, another one for low light intensity another group are these beautiful Philodendrons, Pepperonias, and another great group for a small one for a table and 3 examples here tri-color variety, beautiful waffled leaf silver venation and then this really nice white variegated form. And also there are a lot of ferns in this group. Another really good one and real easy is your Pathos. Well Bill Head thank you very much I really enjoyed seeing this wonderful array of colorful foliage plants for the home.
