@kevindiditagain You could be right that she was overshadowed. She was the only black character on the show at that time, and apparently, the producers of the show thought it would be too controversial to show her in an interracial romance with a white guy. I guess the way they decided to compensate for that was by protraying her as the kind of person who COULD have just about any guy she wanted, but was just too picky. ie. she wanted someone with money and popularity.
