@Dutchy1965 This is a towed target mate, did the shoot myself. PAC doesn't train like that and you only do a 2.0 sec burst.

@ozzieunited thats correct.....watched a towed target shoot when I was AWEEO in HOBART in 1993......CIWS actually started tracking up the cable after the target was destroyed

@Dutchy1965 Yeah exactly what happened here. Dibbies tried to grab the missile but they couldn't pull it out of the water, had too much inside it already.

@psiolence, The system has lock-out positions imbedded into the software. Meaning that it could never turn around and shot that camera. I also used to work on the forward mount on the USS Essex LHD-2. With great hearing protection it is not bad. We used to be outside next to it all the time. Just stay behind it :)

A Frenchman claimed the Italian Otomat Mk2 Block 4 could avoid tracking by the CIWS. I've tried looking this up on the Internet, but haven't much data yet on the Block 4.
