The famous Yiddish theater song "Bay Mir Bistu Sheyn" (this version made famous by the Andrews Sisters), composed by Sholom Secunda (1894--1974). Video taken during performance at Spinoza Haz on Dob utca in Budapest, Hungary.

Performed by Inna Barmash (vocals), Ljova Zhurbin (viola, see http://www.ljova.com), and David Yengibarjan.

  • Yiddish is actually from Middle German. Modern German and Yiddish are extremely similar. Maybe even closer than Ukrainian and Russian, for example.
