I was wrestling with my son and this resulted in a fractured nose, the right side of my nose collapsed. Closed nasal reduction was performed to repair the severe fracture.

  • Hey Paul, I want to get a nose job but I wanted to know, if I just want a bump on top of my nose sanded down, Is it necessary for the surgeon to break the nose? Or it absolutely has to get broke in order to sand it down? I'm not sure how this all works!! I hope it's not a stupid question!

  • @kayslove1

It depends on the circumstances of the patient. An open roof deformity can occur if a nasal hump is reduced and osteotomies (fracturing of the nasal bones) are not performed, or not performed properly. During a nasal hump reduction, the tops of the nasal bones are shaved down to decrease the appearance of the hump. This can make an opening in the top of what is referred to as the “roof.” Performing osteotomies can help to move the bones inward and reduce the open roof.

  • Hi, i was wonder what the surgery is called when you remove the puffyness around the moulth/lip area i'm 17 i have braces wich might make it stick out a little bit, but if i still have it once there removed is there any surgery to fix that?

  • @amaramaple

    Hello,

A cheiloplasty is the technical term for surgery of the lip, or a lip reduction. I do not perform this particular procedure. Thank you for the message.

  • Did your nose bleed much?

  • @eokscadfabtm

    Hello,

I did not have that much bleeding after surgery. It is common to have a discharge that contains blood for the first 24-48 hours following surgery. Please feel free to ask me any other questions about the surgery and I would be happy to answer them for you.
