BlitzRCWorks Giant EPO P-51D Mustang Pre-Flight Test: With Full Retracts, Flaps, Nav Lights

Pilots this is my pre-flight test of the Bltz RC Works BH P-51D Mustang, my only trouble was a vert. stab. nut was incorrect, should have been M3, and they installed a M2.5, so you could not screw the vert stab in with both M3x50 screws. I just removed the plastic piece holding the nut and removed the M2.5 nut and replaced with M3, all good. The only other minor thing was the instruction booklet is useless! but its a great plane, and huge.

If you're building this plane I would take care when inserting the wooden spar that holds the wings together, in hind sight I would apply a little paraffin and insert in each wing separately, then piece together, I almost broke my wing trying to force them together, so be careful!

A123,is it same as LiFePo at H.K.

What kind of battery do you use?do you like the 4S set up?

@jetlongextra I've been using mostly the Turnigy 3600 4s, and a 4000 and a 5000 4s, I really like the Nano Techs, This plane is huge, I like the 5000s best, also I just got an A123 2300 mAh Rx pack from HK, I think its a must, I'm using it all my larger warbirds and EDFs.

@jetlongextra I checked the specs on the BH 1600mm P-47, it's 400kv motor and 85A ESC, off hand I'd say you're gonna have to upgrade the ESC to 100A to handle at load the 18.v 5s. Also I can tell you that you should 100% add an external BEC, or better yet use the A123 Rx pack, I just got 2 from Hobbyking (HK), the 2300mAh pack was only $22 or so. I was constantly getting Rx brown outs, using the Rx pack will eliminate this- and ONLY use genuine A123 batts- there is a huge difference!!

Just got the p47 1600mm from BH, thinking of using 5S Lipo,its got 4258 400kv motor,will it burn the ESC or motor?

@shurlock1 No it's not the same as Nitroplanes Airfield P-51, from what I know the Airfied and FMS are the same. The BH BlitzRCworks 1600mm P-51 is the same as the Starmax 1600mm P-51-- I'm pretty sure on that.
