AND around the same year, Oprah Winfrey did a show from the basement of Cabrini Green Projects. Oprah wanted to lift these people out of the cycle of children having children and the poverty that comes with it. A young girl, about 13, stood up with a question and asked, "but Oprah! How are we supposed to get our own apartment & (welfare) check if we don't have a baby?" Of course, Oprah told her to shut up and sit down. Now that the welfare is gone, abortion has become their alternative as well.

In '82 I lived in Chicago IL & my 18 yr old room mate got pregnant. She was a waitress, no health ins. & she was white. She called the Dept of Human Services, i.e. Welfare, and spoke to a social worker. All she asked for was help with medical ins to have the baby. The social worker told her there was nothing they could do for her because she was 18, working, and white. She told her to go get an abortion, so she did, and not one women waiting at the clinic that day was black, they were all white.

A woman should go in undercover (Planned Parenthood) and act like she is unsure what to do with her unplanned pregnancy, and record the response. I would love to see how deep this runs, if they recommend or even push abortion at the first, or only, solution.

That's the problem, IMO, with a lot of the anti abortion people. They seem to WANT women to breed themselves into poverty, and that isn't necessary. Women have been tricked into thinking that abortion gives them power over their bodies. Instead, it ruins them spiritually and emotionally.
