The African Grey Parrot is a medium-sized parrot found in the rainforest of West and Central Africa. Experts regard it as one of the most intelligent birds. Their gentle nature and ability to mimic speech have made them popular pets. However, these birds must be entertained, or they start to pluck their feathers, resulting in having no feathers at all. In captivity, the African Grey parrot can live up to 70 years of age.
Ruby is currently regrowing her feathers after a stressful previous situation. Slowly but surely, they are growing in.
This is Ruby's owner -- thanks for asking about her. She is doing much better. The above video was taken last summer -- and already this spring she has more feathers. A video update is coming!
