Australia's Prime Minister announced a new stimulus package on Tuesday. The plan will cost $26 billion, sending the Australian budget into the red for the first time in a decade. (Feb. 3)

what pisses me off is if your a single person with no family, YOU DONT RATE, its all working families this and that. There is a huge single demographic that always gets overlooked. shit man, i need to get my brakes done, that $950 would help Big time! @2010TheSpade Very true. The liberals had the foresight to save during the boom, so that we could holdout the recession. The $1000 handouts were a huge waste of money. The future building was also rushed, and miss managed.

However don't bash single mothers, looking after children is a pretty demanding job. The medium term investment in single parents is worth the longterm investment in their children. My mother raised me mostly by herself, she is now back working. I am studying engineering.

Peter Costello saved us from the collapse of sept 2008 not Rudd and stimulus payments to single mothers who contribute nothing to economy and suck the tax payer dry.

Thats right, under the liberals unemployment was at record lows, now unemployment is soaring up...

Australia had it good for the 11 1/2 years they took the liberals for granted.

Remember that there are still countries out there that are growing and not in reccession. We would have been one of those if libs were in.

We didnt have to go into a reccession because we were debt free, massive surplus etc.

No librials ar just smart. All labour want to do is enourage people not to earn money. The librials dont like money going to people because its a waste, now that this stimulas package is being sent WILL ALL HAVE TO PAY IT BACK. Because all this money is borrowed. and so will have to pay it back and that means taxes will go up. What the librials ar focused on is growth in the country so that no one is a struggling aussie.
