You can tell she really loved him and while she read that letter how much she missed him. real sad to see her hurting for the man she truly loved.

I've never cried watching a movie, I've never cried hearing a speech, I've never cried when I got hurt, I've never cried in public, and I've never cried over the death of a family member. As I sat here listening and watching Katharine reading the letter she wrote to Spence, I felt my eyes welling up with tears. They stung and fell onto my keyboard. I didn't bother wipe them away. THAT was true love right there. Love in its purest form. Katharine was a remarkable woman. God bless her and Spence.

@taurusgirl65 Upon a little wikipedia reading, I have learnt that spencer and katherine were never married, they were just partners. katherine was divorced from her first marriage, but spencer remained married, because his wife and katherine preferred that he does not file for divorce. He lived separated from his wife. He did not even live with katherine out of respect for his wife. he was dishonest with kate in between when he had another affair or two with his co-stars, but kate was faithful.

I have a question. I understood that both Spencer and Katharine were married and were seeing each other but how come they never divorced? And if their spouses knew of the affair, why didn't have their say or thought about divorce. I've nothing against their relationship, I'm just trying to understand how the marriages and affiar kept them together, besides love, and whether or not they were okay with it. Again, nothing against the relationship, I'm just wondering is all. Thank you.

That's terribly moving. I admire Miss Hepburn very very much. She was an honest, creative, alternative and divine woman and also a great actress. Her letter to "Spence" is a declaration of love. May the both rest in peace :)

The ending made me want to reach into the screen and hug her. Now they are together again continuing their friendship and love. We miss you Spencer and Katharine.
